  • I am a national award-winning filmmaker and journalist with more than 15 years of professional experience. I specializes in science, nature and environment stories and my work often explores animal behavior and animals' relationships with the natural environment and with humans. In 2017, I won the national Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Documentary for directing, producing and writing a film about shark conservation. In 2014 I was awarded the American Association for the Advancement of Science Journalism Award for Best Video Feature for The Ecology of Fear, a story that explores wolves impacts on the larger ecosystem. My work has been featured on Showtime, HBO Films, PBS, CBS, MSNBC, Nat Geo Wild, PBS QUEST, CBS This Morning, The PBS NewsHour, The World Channel, Voice of America TV, Gawker Media, The U.S. Olympic Committee, The Associated Press, Yale University Press, and the Cannes International Film Festival. I have won six Emmy Awards NW for directing, producing, cinematography, editing and writing. In addition, I am a Logan Science Journalism Fellow, a Woods Hole Science Journalism Fellow, an MBL Arctic Fellow, an Institute for Journalism and Natural Resources Fellow, and a Corporation for Public Broadcasting International Fellow.
