What do you think of Robocop’s new motorcycle? Unlike some film bloggers, I kind of dig it. Robocop needs a reboot, especially in this era of predator drones, CCTV, and Homeland Security.
It still looks, for the most part, like someone just wearing body armour. There appears to be no attempt to make it look like a machine which is carrying a few squishy human parts, just a guy in a suit; that was the achievement with the original Robocop, where we have all these amazingly flexible joints, they managed to create the impression of something that needed to be over-engineered to create a similar range of movement. With that in place, it just needed Peter Weller to ace the movement limitations of those joints.
Let’s be totally honest here… the original Robocop looked like a guy wearing a bulky suit doing the robot dance. If it wasn’t wrapped in nostalgia you’d say it looks laughably clunky. Besides we haven’t seen video of this performance so we don’t know how he moves.
Anyhow Robots today are fast and have insane range of movement:
Sorry but the stop motion mech animations don’t reflect today’s scarier robots. I hope they can capture some of these new trends.
Now I’m a big bike fan and I have to say that this design is nothing special, it’s a little bit of fairing over an ordinary sports bike (Honda would be my guess). Like the actor, it’s a bike in a suit.
I have to say that after the Batpod, this isn’t enough. It looks cheap.
The problem?

Anyone remember Street Hawk?

Never underestimate the power of good lighting
True
Found some BTS video:
Hard to tell because we’re not seeing a performance – but I get the impression that he’s much stiffer – not like a guy in a spandex suit.
