Please stop showing picture for the sake of showing picture of naked women. This has nothing to do with filmmaking.

Sorry, but i can’t state all that is wrong with your answers.
And I can’t fathom why you bring this up as there have been several people who’s portraits have been featured despite them having even less to do with filmmaking than Miss Perry.
We also have pictures of sunsets that have never stared in a movie. Maybe we should find some pictures of bowls of fruit to illustrate great photography, but personally I prefer Ms. Perry.

I’m not making a quality judgement by bringing up the fact that her movie made $25 million at the box office (just in the U.S). Taking a rough $10 per ticket estimate that’s 2.5 million tickets sold. Do you have a movie that had 2.5 million people pay money to see?
Box Office Mojo states that the film had a $12 million production budget. That’s money going into an industry that supports thousands of people – camera ops, editors, carpenters, lighting grips, roadies, drivers, stage hands, ushers, vendor workers… Regardless of what you think of the “quality” of the movie, that’s money that people live on. That’s somebody’s grocery money, some one’s rent money, the final payment on a child’s braces.
All those people are taken care of by this celebrity product called Katy Perry. A product that you may not enjoy but enough people do that it can keep itself going year after year since she hit it big in 2007.
Even if the movie wasn’t good (I don’t know and I really don’t care because it wasn’t made for people like me) how can you deny the fact that it does more good for more people than some artsy movie that nobody saw and nobody got paid on?
Of course she does. A name like Katy Perry is going to have a say in her product. She’s going to have to work with producers and record labels but no artist can achieve that level of stardom without having their own unique fingerprint on the work they produce.
But even if she didn’t – why is the work of marketing people mean less. They’re also artists, musicians and filmmakers.
If you’re a director trying to break into commercial work should you not be familiar with Katy Perry’s style?
You think Tarantino doesn’t cultivate an image? Kubrick? Fellini? What else is a movie besides an image and sound? Story is by product of image and sound – you can’t get there without style first.
Everything is calculated. Everything is in place. If you know Katy Perry, she’s usually wearing heavy eye shadow and wild colored hair. Here, she’s natural – naked both literally and figuratively.
This site is about filmmaking on a level so much deeper than you currently understand – Although I do enjoy the deep irony of being told that I don’t know what FilmmakerIQ is.
There was a moment in my career when I saw the deeper meaning of filmmaking – it doesn’t need to be relegated to the creaking corners of DIY tutorials and camera specs. There’s wonder in filmmaking – titillation, humor, sadness, longing, rage, redemption, weirdness.
Those are the elements of cinema, not F-stops. But if you never open your eyes to filmmaking on that deep level, you might as well move on to another hopefully less expensive hobby because you won’t last more than 3 years in this field whether you’re doing it as a profession or not.
If anyone tries to rebuke that, they are just a troll and would get no respect from me.

I think the embarressment is them. They are fighting a lost cause as they again pick on a portrait which has had similar content before. As for it being bad; it follows the Golden Thread, her posture creates triangular shapes and her skin tones match well with the sand background as does her eyes and the sky.
What would they consider good? (Must have similar content to validate their opinion)
What a coward… I would love to see them banned. But then again, I like reading their comments.
