FilmmakerIQ.com has teamed up with Celtx, the creator of our favorite open-source filmmaking tool to give you the opportunity to enter the Dark Gothic World of Edgar Allan Poe. Here’s your chance to really show off your screenwriting and pre-visualizing skills by adapting and storyboarding Poe’s poem “The Raven.”

I wanted to put together a sample Celtx file to show you guys what we’re expecting (format wise) from entries in the Raven Contest.

As we stated – you can submit a word by word adaptation (anyone of a certain age probably has the Simpsons’ version engraved in our brains) or you can take a completely drastic and new approach to it and set it in any genre you want…

So I ran it as a CSI style police procedural… fitting as Poe was an early pioneer of detective novels.

Obviously, this is not in competition – feel free to use the idea – but fill out the rest of the story and write it better than I did :)
