NEW Music Video I Directed — Feedback/criticism wanted! (6 posts)

    Hello fellow filmmakers, I’d like to share with you guys a music video I recently directed and edited. I’d like to hear your feedback on what you like, or don’t like.

    We needed a third location/scene that would of really mixed things up a bit. This is some feedback I’ve already received, I wanted to share that bit of information with you so I can get a little more criticism beyond that.

    Hi, great video, very professional. I can see why you wanted a third location but I think a different costume and some different shots would have added what you were looking for. I also think that adding backgrounds to the titles would set them off.

    The only real problem I have is the speed zooming in and out, it’s not a good look.

    Some city scape backgrounds might help the urban atmosphere for this sort of music. The drive outside her house is kinda low rent.If you’ve got some shots of recognisable cities like Paris and Rome it could class it up.

    The mellow bit that starts at 2:40 would be really cool shot on a canal boat.

    Because no where is cheaper to shoot than Rome…

    Thanks for the kind words! Yeah we could have done another costume in the studio, we were kinda pressed for time.

    @bendover lol that’s not her driveway but yeah I guess it kind of looks like that. I’d love to shoot in Paris too.. one day!!

    The cuts are nice. Next time you might want to get the camera off the tripod – it seems to be all static shots. The framing on all the outdoor stuff isn’t really doing the vid any favors – I can’t figure out if it was supposed to look like home video or not.
