My Emily (Short Film)
Public Group active 4 months, 2 weeks agoPaul Delaney is still in love with his high school crush. It’s been 8 years, and Paul has finally summoned the courage to connect with her through Facebook – but Emily turns out to be entirely different than he could ever imagine.
This group will discuss what went into the production and share information about future screenings of this short film.

I used a Tascam P2 HD but there’s no reason you can’t use a Zoom H4N or similar device.

Excellent, thanks. I can get both the mic and the Tascam off Ebay for just over £100 total. Not bad.

I think 2 stones sounds like a good idea. :) One more question and please excuse my ignorance, but does the sound actually record onto the Tascam or does that interface to put it on computer? Yes you could use the built in mic if you got it REALLY close to your subject. It won’t sound “as good” but it will work. Again, PROXIMITY is your friend. Get the mic close to the [...]

Ok, a quick Google tells me a ribbon mic is multi-directional. If youw ere doing this today, would you use the same mic or do you recommend something else?
Quite a wide price range on these, research will prove interesting. The Tascam recorder looks perfect, as you say, for portability.
