My Emily (Short Film)

Public Group active 4 months, 2 weeks ago

Paul Delaney is still in love with his high school crush. It’s been 8 years, and Paul has finally summoned the courage to connect with her through Facebook – but Emily turns out to be entirely different than he could ever imagine.

This group will discuss what went into the production and share information about future screenings of this short film.

Anybody have experience using it – can recommend certain tricks when using it?

Okay, I have now sent in applications to 12 film festivals using WAB.

It’s not the most intuitive thing in the world – it feels like a Web 1.0 site in a Web 2.0 world.

The best part about it is the online screeners. You upload your video to IMDB (because Amazon owns everything: IMDB, WAB, BoxOfficeMojo) and the festival can watch it online.

Still need to send out a couple DVDs tomorrow to some fests that don’t take online screeners.

    Fingers crossed…

Cool. Now add it to IMDB so we can both get a credit.

IMDB requires an acceptance at an IMDB accredited festival (or you can publish the DVD through Amazon and get the credit).

Most of the festivals I’ve entered are accredited so it should be along its way.

Now that it’s been almost a year and a half since using withoutabox.com,
looking back- would you endorse the site?

  • Avatar Image John P. Hess said 7 months, 1 week ago:

    Absolutely.

I don’t endorse all those festivals…. but the site is a great time saver.

I read about withoutabox.com and thought it was an interesting concept. But you know how it goes, interesting concepts are great ideas on paper but not so good in function. Thanks.
