    Hi Johnny!

This is the perfect place for your question(s).

This industry is all about networking. You should be using our site and others to help establish those networks. Spend some time participating to let others know you and to give yourself an opportunity to get to know others. Like building any relationship it takes time. Don’t look for shortcuts. Be persistent and stick with it. Success is much more about not giving up than it is about breaking though.

As far as casting websites check out:

Texas is one of the best states for filmmakers. I would recommend contacting the Austin Film Society and other Texas film commissions. Just tell them your goals and ask what you can be doing to help you on that path.

    Start building those networks today!

    I’ve also used http://ExploreTalent.com and http://NowCasting.com.

We’re working on a few things regarding acting and how it relates to directing and story telling… but feel free to post any questions.

As an actor one of the best tools you have is yourself, you have to put yourself out there and get noticed. Google, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter are great ways of reaching out and connecting with filmmakers. But you also need to find them and speak with them in person, so go to screenings, film festivals, meetings and so on.

    They are out there.

And it might help to read up on the craft…

One of the best articles there is about getting the perfect headshot for your resume. Casting starts with your looks first and an excellent way of getting recognition.
