Reboots of TV shows have never been good in my opinion – it’s a diminishing return because the magic that made the original such a hit (often the adversity met with threatening cancellation) just isn’t there on the second time around. But maybe, just maybe, this will be the exception to the rule:
I’m so excited I blue myself!
Dr. Fünke is the best (and the first) Analrapist of all time! I’ve gotten pretty much everyone in my class to try this show. Some say it’s dumb, but they’re also the same people who think “‘Scary Movie 5′ is the funniest movie ever!” The rest have fallen in love with it.
How can anyone in your class say it’s “Dumb” … this is not a show that’s “dumb” – it can be silly and over the top but… dumb… nah
Oh well what do I know, I get jollies from mislabeling pictures on facebook.
Okay since you got me started…
There is nothing as funny as getting a bunch of talented actors together and developing comedy bits like this running Chicken Dance gag.
I’m not a 100% sure what the relationship between actor and director and writer were on this set, but I imagine for something to really take hold like this, the actors all have to feel like they own their characters and have a role in what their character is doing.
So for a writer or a director – it’s like handing them a seed of an idea and then sitting back and watching the comedy blossom and grow. You give notes, you go back and forth and it just gets better and better.
That to me is one of the best experiences I’ve had on sets – and watching this bit just reminds me how much fun comedy can be to create.
As soon as the chorus started I thought of this.
Whoa John, same chicken dance idea…
A great example of how a bit character can make an indelible impression
Oh my God, how could I forget about Mr. Weatherman!?!?!?
Watched 4 episodes of the new season… HURRAY It’s pretty good!
