Rick Young Reviews the Black Magic Cinema Camera
Hands-on test with Blackmagic Cinema camera. Rick Young tests the camera in many different situations; getting a feel for the camera in terms of operation, usability, working with different lenses, with a good look at the images the camera produces.
Filmed on location in Perth Australia, this is a real-world report to see just what this camera is capable of. Blackmagic Design have described this as a “cinema camera” – check out the images to see how the camera shapes up in terms of image quality, depth of field, colour rendition and the overall “cinematic” look.
Loosk like someone used the Ripple Training Intro as reference? Doh!
How do you know Ripple Training Intro didn’t use Rick’s intro?
Or more likely, it’s just a template.
I find the camera a little too simple.
1. There isn’t enough of an ASA or White Balance range
2. Didn’t see any option for a manual T Stop setting
3. The menu is over simplified, “Film” and “Video” as dynamic range settings? Please
I like to have full control and know exactly what my settings are and what the camera is doing. Is it worth the extra resolution? No. Happier with my DSLR thankyouverymuch.jpeg.
DSLR D5 III got its butt kicked by Blackmagic cine camera in terms of dynamic range and resolution, no doubt you must be a photographer not a cinematographer. Good on you Rick I love it can’t wait to get my hands on one
