The internships sometimes are shady, but this is flat-out fucked. How many students has it had? 50k is low if he has 10+ students every year under a different name for 10-15k each.
What an asshole. Also students should be a little smarter in their choices. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming them, but I think they should have did some investigation before paying tuition.
This guy pisses me off.
All you need to do is do the math. As you say, natums, just 10 students paying 10 large each is $100,000. And even thought he is fined that doesn’t mean he pays.
There is a very strong of caveat emptor here. Before one pays tuition to get a leading role in a movie one should learn a little about the business. It’s as simple as finding out what feature films this school produced in the past. This guy pisses me off but I do blame the students.
Hey Directorik,
Wasn’t this the same group that was trying to promote itself on myspace a couple of years back? It sure seems familiar. As you said its buyer beware…..
I think you may be right. I recall seeing this guy post on several boards over the years.
