I love all 9-episodes!
I agree with the final statement that it’s important that director’s have at least have some sort of foundational knowledge in each department. The director has his vision and done a lot of homework in realizing it. In order for the director’s vision to be fully realized, he needs collaboration between himself and all the departments. Like theater, film is a collaborative art. The director’s understanding of the different aspects of production can help him communicate to the departments what they want and can hopefully (if they are a creative collaborator), enter a dialog with that department so they can develop or even improve ideas.
