Dennis, I think you're spot on. Studios are not "trying to make 'Star Wars' over and over again. They're trying to make what they believe the audience wants to see. That's a very different thing. Different generations are in need of different stories. And today, the bulk of the filmmaking audience does not consist of septuagenarians. So they don't want to see what Francis Coppola wants to see (let alone MAKE). It's interesting to see how both Coppola and Lucas, two of the most celebrated filmmakers of their time, seem so completely frustrated with their achievements. Sorry Francis – and MYMHM – you’re not getting it.

Studios are not “trying to make ‘Star Wars’ over and over again. They’re trying to make what they believe the audience wants to see.

That’s a very different thing.

Different generations are in need of different stories. And today, the bulk of the filmmaking audience does not consist of septuagenarians.

So they don’t want to see what Francis Coppola wants to see (let alone MAKE).
