What’s the Best ‘Worst Movie’ of All Time?

Is there such a thing as “so bad it’s good?”
Mark Twain once said that politicians, old buildings and prostitutes become respectable with age. Perhaps we can add bad movies to that list.
Plan 9 from Outer Space (widely considered the worst movie ever made) was selected by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Film Registry 30 years after its release.
Plan 9 isn’t the only film to rise from the ashes to become a “cult” favorite.
Today fans of the movie “The Room” are lining up at screenings across the country. They have dubbed it the worst movie in the world. The out of focus shots, terrible acting and nonsensical storyline only seem to add to its enjoyment.
The crowds show up more for the experience than the movie itself. Echoing “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” three decades earlier, fans dress up in costume, they carry props like those in the movie, and they bring items they can throw at the screen during the cheesiest of scenes. In true Midnight Movie form, some fans even light joints when a actor does the same (I guess 3D isn’t the only thing that gets people back in the theaters).
ABC’s Alex Stone reports:
This is the trailer for the “The Room.”
BTW, there is a sequel in the works. It will be interesting to see if they can be this bad on purpose.
So tell us, what’s your favorite worst movie? My vote is for “Hard Ticket To Hawaii.”
