This segment is a brief introduction to the three important digital television (DTV) standards currently in use in the United States (480i, 720p and 1080i) with an emphasis on the two HD formats and a look to the future.

This is just a solid introduction to HD – a concept that already has about 10 million little things flying about… NTSC DV was simple – with HD, there’s a lot more to be concerned about – and a lot more confusion.
I mean they sell HD Sunglasses and HD window panes – no wonder people are confused.
