Delivery Hell or The Hangover After The Party

Deliverables are an often over look element by new filmmakers. Not having the necessary elements and not budgeting for them could mean the difference between a successful distribution deal and none at all. Also see “A Short Guide to Delivering a Film.”

…It is the dream of every producer to go to Sundance, win prizes and get distribution. I was lucky enough to have been one of the producers, along with Galt Niederhoffer and Morgan J. Freeman, on Morgan’s film Hurricane Streets, and we all lived this dream. But in the process I realized that there should be some sort of training school for first – time – producers – who – sell – their – pictures – and – then – have – to – deliver – to – distributors – and – foreign – sales-companies. As Morgan says, “delivery sucks.” And unlike Domino’s, it takes longer than 20 minutes.
